The latest development concerns a petition seeking the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), on which the Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a highly significant order. The Court has clarified that employees appointed prior to January 1, 2005, are entitled to the benefits of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS)—even if they assumed charge of their duties at a later date for valid reasons. This verdict was delivered during the hearing of a petition that had been pending since 2010.
