इस बढ़ती ठंड का मुख्य कारण उत्तरी भारत से आ रही ठंडी हवाएँ हैं। इन बर्फीली और शीत लहरों की मौजूदगी के चलते ही मध्यप्रदेश के कई शहरों में रात का पारा (तापमान) तेजी से नीचे गिर रहा है, जिससे लोगों को अब हल्की गर्म कपड़ों की जरूरत महसूस होने लगी है।
