मध्य प्रदेश में लगभग आठ साल के लंबे अंतराल के बाद आई सब-इंस्पेक्टर (SI) भर्ती, जिसे "एक तो करेला दूजे नीमचढ़ा" वाली स्थिति कहा जा रहा है, गंभीर आरक्षण विवाद में फँस गई है। पुलिस मुख्यालय (PHQ) और कर्मचारी चयन मंडल (ESB) द्वारा जारी की गई रूलबुक इस विवाद की मुख्य वजह बन गई है। नियमानुसार, एसटी, एससी और ओबीसी वर्ग को तो वर्टिकल आरक्षण का लाभ मिल रहा है, लेकिन एक्स सर्विसमैन, पुलिसकर्मियों और महिलाओं के लिए तय हॉरिजॉन्टल आरक्षण को लागू करने में बड़ा पेंच फँस गया है।

उम्मीदवारों ने रूलबुक की इस विसंगति पर गंभीर सवाल उठाए हैं। हॉरिजॉन्टल आरक्षण में यह जटिलता भर्ती प्रक्रिया की पारदर्शिता और निष्पक्षता पर सवाल खड़े कर रही है। चूँकि एसआई भर्ती इतनी लंबी प्रतीक्षा के बाद आई है, इसलिए इस आरक्षण संबंधी गड़बड़ी ने उम्मीदवारों की चिंता और नाराजगी को बढ़ा दिया है, जिससे यह पूरी भर्ती प्रक्रिया कानूनी और प्रशासनिक उलझनों में उलझने की आशंका है।
